Voice Lessons with Amy Wallen
Amy reveals her distractions. Any sound familiar?

Today, I checked my Facebook to see what all my friends had to say. “On my way to the dentist!” one friend says. “Check out my new puppy!” another says. “I’m sending you my blessings because you deserve them,” says another friend who I haven’t seen or heard from since high school, and she wasn’t really even a friend then, so I’m not sure why she’s my friend now. Facebook is my My Space of this week. Twitter is on its way. Email is right up there with them. Before that it was the phone. It used to be I would clean the refrigerator. Or gather all my old clothes for Goodwill. Now, I don’t even have to leave my desk to procrastinate. It comes to me!

Voice Lessons are about looking at each moment with a writer’s eye. An attempt to keep the creative creative. A mulling of all things writing.

Oh, Amy! Facebook and twitter are now a "must check" while having the first cup of coffee, before a creative task is even considered. It is like an addiction! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Wanna be my friend on FB? :)

I am with all of you! Before I start my day, sometimes in between, and of course end it…I check in with FB! Wild….Crazy…..Kind of think it is addictive…..I wonder if they are going to come up with a 12 step program????
